What is Cosmetology?

Cosmetology is the study and application of the hair, skin, and nails. Branches of specialty include hairstyling, skin care, cosmetics, nail technology, hair removal, and many more. Many cosmetologists work in salons, spas, and even the film industry. These beauty professionals enjoy exponential opportunities in a growing industry, and are able to have a flexible schedule with job security.

How Do I Become a Cosmetologist?

In order to become a cosmetologist, one would enroll in the program which matched their desired specialty. Students will choose one of our 4 programs: cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, or instructor. After this, we will provide you hands on training and classroom learning in order to prepare you for the State of Illinois License exam. After applying for the Cosmetology license from the state board, the student will take the license test, and upon passing the test, will be granted a Cosmetology license, and can begin practicing their trade.
