In 2020, the CARES Act was signed (Covid-19 Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act). The CARES Act created an education stimulus package that included a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) which contained over $6 billion for postsecondary education emergency grants to students who experienced a disruption of their education as a result of this Covid-19 pandemic. These emergency grant funds are intended to be used for “expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare).” The grants also provide institutions with expenses related to the disruption of campus operations on account of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The school’s HEERF documents are attached below. Please call 773-508-5600 for any questions or concerns regarding the CARES Act or HEERF funds.
