Nail Technology Course

Course Length - 350 hours

  • Full-time =  24 + Hours per week
  • Part-time =  15 - 24 Hours per week

Time attended will be rounded to the nearest quarter hour. A half-hour will be deducted for lunch break for all students attending more than 5 hours.

Admission Requirement

To enroll the basic Cosmetology course, you must have one of followings:

  • Student must be at least 16 years old
  • Student must be a graduate of 8th grade and show proof of completion of 8th grade

Course Description


Nail technology is a profession that is exciting and full rewarding benefits. The main objective of this course is to train students in both theory and practical experience, which will prepare them for employment as nail technologist. Student will be trained to perform all nail service allowed by the Department of Professional Regulations which in the scope of practice of a licensed nail technician. These services include manicuring, pedicuring, gets, sculptured nails, nail wrapping, tips and nail art. In addition, the student will learn about shop management and salon operation. The course also attempts to instill in the student the necessary knowledge pertaining to methods of proper sanitation, health, and safety of the necessary knowledge pertaining to methods or proper sanitation, health, and safety of both the client and the nail technician. Finally, the course will emphasize the principles of self-reliance and ethics, which are essential when working in the nail technology profession.

Required Level of Achievement

All nail technician students are required to maintain a minimum of 70% grade point average in theory and practical areas throughout the entire nail technology course.
Students will be evaluated on academics and attendance every 75 hours after completing the first 75 hours of the course. In addition, a minimum score of 85% must be achieved on the comprehensive practical final exam and the comprehensive theory final exam for a diploma to be issued. (Please refer to the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for additional requirement)

Graduation Requirements

    -- Completion of 350 hours of coursework within 150 % of the stated time frame
       (i.e. full-time being up to 4 ? months and part-time being up to 9 months)
    -- Passing scores of at least 85% on final theory and practical examinations
    -- Tuition balance paid in full

Upon successful completion of the nail technology course, each student will receive an official transcript and school diploma.
